About. Why we are here, what services we can supply, where we have had experience.
|
Newly Established in 2024After servicing the Wide Bay Water for the 8 years, and previously 30+ years in private industry in various electrical fields (mainly control systems) and moving to Bundaberg early 2023 for personal and family reasons, we saw that, in the Wide Bay region, there was little or no locally based Control Systems Engineers. We are taking this opportunity to fill what we see as a need in this region.
|
Our GoalOur goal is to fill the gap, as an experienced Control Systems and Electrical Engineering business, to service the requirements of local industry that fits in between Electrical Contractors and Brisbane based Systems Integrators.
The added knowledge above electrical contractors and the convenience of being a local control systems engineering business, is aimed at providing timely and economical services. As with all major centres, Bundaberg has some highly experienced Industrial Electrical Contractors that we will be able to collaborate with. We are independent, but also available to assist local contractors and city-based Integrators where required; but we are also here with the ability and experience to carry out design, projects and complex maintenance tasks on our own. We can also assist clients on very large projects in advisory or supervising roles - for specification development, installation oversight, documentation, quality and site testing. |
Our MethodsPlanning, Planning and Planning.
After years of observing "entrepreneurial" engineers and contractors rushing in, pulling a $ figure out the air, then scratching their heads not knowing how they're going to do the project, without thinking the project through, then walking away. They often fail and after a year of frustration, have their systems ripped out, or they have to return multiple times to fix it, losing their own, and the client's valuable production time. We pre-plan and budget extensively, which may appear slow at first, but when installed it generally goes first time and we never have to return. High level specs The specifications and drawings are the basis of any technical contract. This is where the client drives what is required for the project so that both the supplier and client are on the same page. The specification has to be tight to avoid an otherwise loose specification, where the client could end up with equipment that does not fulfil its role. Testing and Operational Reliability. Civil and structural engineers may do their preliminary design only to 70%, because their designs are generally over-designed or they generate a new project to overcome what was overlooked. Once complete, they leave. In Control Systems, and the programming of controllers, one bug can stop or slow the whole plant. If a project finishes with some minor control shortcomings, then it ends up with what becomes a "thorn in the side" for the plant operators, where a small piece of the control system was overlooked and left to the operators to fill in the gaps. Which is something we strive to avoid. Hence control systems engineers generally design and specify the preliminary design to well over 90% of the final as-constructed system. Factory and Site Acceptance Testing to prove the system is very rigorous. |
